Astrology | Vedic Astrology

Astrology is one of the six Vedanga. Jyotish/Astrology is as old as the Vedas themselves. Astrology describes 'eyes' in the Vedic group as it empowers us to view our past, present, and also future. Those mentioned above' spiritual eye' is managed by those who are well versed in the scientific research and application of the language of Planets (heavenly bodies). These planets have a significant impact on our life.

Whatsoever is born or done at any time, has the characteristics of that very particular time. Planets mapped in the form of a Birthchart/horoscope at the time of appearance or happing of an event-based upon astronomy. This map (Birth Chart) can be interpreted according to the established beliefs of Astrology.

Astrology is the scientific research and application of the language of Planet (heavenly bodies). The positions of Planets (Grahas) are calculated by applying principles of astronomy and also using mathematics. Furthermore, it is created in the form of a horoscope (Birth Chart). Planets precise positions in the Birth Chart or horoscope show definite events in one's life

Astrology is a scientific examination of moving planets connected with the mystic, intuitional, and spiritual rules of human beings. This is a super science for a better existence. Astrology is based on the relation between reason and consequence. The Birth Chart, or horoscope, is the result of previous karmas. Karmas are the total of one's material, psychic, and spiritual actions in the past lives. There is a practice of free will that allowed all human beings, but our past karmas produce limitations for us. We have free will only within the boundaries prescribed by the result of karmas of our previous life. An astrologer can suggest which karmas can overcome and which have to be a sufferer.

The three principal divisions of Astrology

Samhita: It deals with events, which affect the masses, such as national and global incidents, climate forecasts, natural hazards, eclipses, earthquakes, cyclones, and anything more similar.

Ganita or Siddhanta: It deals with the numerical/mathematical aspect of astrology.

Hora: It dispenses with predictive. Reliable judgment and intuition power are the prerequisites for skill in hora Shastra.

Astrology is based on an in-depth knowledge of astronomy. A knowledgeable astrologer must know about Astronomy. Astrology is a study of the effect of (Planet) heavenly bodies on us. In Astrology, the earth is considered as the central point with the rest of the universe is in constant movement around it. The Indian astronomy applied in Jyotish is geocentric, respecting the earth as the center of the universe. Position and movement of the (Planets) heavenly bodies are considered in relation to the earth, which is our prinSigns or Rashiscipal home.

Rashi: The Rashi is the sign-in in which Moon is placed at the time of your birth. It's additionally called the Moonsign. The Moonsign is one of the essential points in Vedic Astrology.

Grahas or Planets

Planets/Grah have their importance in Hindu Astrology. There are nine planets or Grahas. These include Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Sun, Moon, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu

Nakshatras

Twenty-seven constellations or nakshatras mark the Zodiac. The first constellation, Ashwini Synchronises, with the first point of Mesha. Each Nakshatra measures 13° 20′ of arc

Houses or Bhavas

House/Bhāva is a term in Astrology/Jyotisha, indicating a fixed zodiacal degree of the sky. It matches the theory of "house" in Western Astrology.

Birth Chart or Horoscope

Birth Chart/Horoscope is a chart/map of the place of all the celestial bodies like planets etc. at the time of the delivery of someone or happening of an event.
The Solar System and the Zodiac. Our heavenly system has the sun at its center, and its annual track is known as elliptic. The Planet 8 degrees on each side of the elliptic, is known as the Zodiac. Planets regulate their progress to this belt. 9 planets, i.e., the Mercury, the Venus, the Earth, the Mars, the Jupiter, the Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto rotate in elliptical rings around the sun. In the Vedic astrology, four planets—Earth, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto—have no space. The planet Moon is the satellite of the earth, and it's two shadowy poles known as the Rahu and Ketu, are additionally taken into a study in the Vedic astrology.

Rashis though the Zodiac is elliptical, we take it as circular in shape for practical purposes, and like every circle, it has a circuit of 360°. If we break it into 12 even parts of 30°, each will be called rashis. The location of the Moon defines the birth rashis.

Rashis and Planets: The Zodiac has 12 signs (rashis) of 30° each. Specific symbols and names represent them. Each rashis an assigned 'Lord.'

Besides the sun and the Moon, every Planet rules two signs. Planets obtain or waste their power in certain signs according to their connection with the lord of the sign. There is a natural relationship between planets. Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Moon are Divine/Daiviya planets. While Venus, Saturn, and Mercury are Asuri planets. There is clear enmity between Gods and Asur planets. Mercury is a dual planet.

Debilitation (neech) sign is always 7th from the exaltation sign or vice versa.
Natural nature/characteristic: Natural malefics are Saturn, Rahu, Ketu from Astiri side, and the Sun and Mars from the Dawiya side. Natural benefic are Jupiter and the Moon from Daiviya side and Mercury and Venus from Asuri side Planets.

If the circle of the Zodiac is divided into 27 equal parts of 13°20," every part known as Nakshatra. Like each Rashi, each star has been assigned with planetary rulers.
Horoscope: It is a chart indicating the position of planets in the Zodiac at any given time. Each horoscope consists of 12 houses/Bhavas represented by 12 rashis of the Zodiac. The ascendant sign/Rashi is placed in the first house, and succeed in Rashis is taken into the rest of the houses.

Retrograde Planets. The relative movement of planets may become apparently slow due to the elliptical nature of Zodiac at certain points. Even the earth may overtake them, and their movement may appear backward.

This is always happening with nodes of Moon, i.e., Rahu- Ketu. Therefore, they have their normal movement as retrograde, but the sun and the moon (luminaries) always have direct motion and are never retrograde. Other planets may have direct or indirect movements.

Vimshottari Dasha: It is unique in Indian astrology, where everybody has to enjoy the influence of the major nine planets of Hindu astrology, irrespective of calculation of longevity the total duration assigned to Vimshottari Dasha is 120 years. If anyone crosses the age of 120years, the cycle again starts from year one of
infancy. According to this system every Planet influences one nativity for a specific duration and the duration allotted to each Planet is as under.
Sun 6 years, Moon 10 years, Mars 7 years, Rahu 18 years, Jupiter 16 years, Saturn 19 years, Mercury 17 years, Ketu 7 years and Venus 20 years. Which native will start from which point of this cycle and which Planet will influence him at birth and for how much duration is known as Dasha Balance at birth. It is calculated by the exact degrees of the Moon (or the star in which a native is born.

Aspects of Planets: Planets often affect other places far away from their placement. In Hindu astrology, every Planet affects the 7th house from itself. In addition, Jupiter/Rahu also affects 5th and 9th, Saturn 3rd, and 10th and Mars 4th and 8th houses from their placement. Please note that though allotment of houses is done in an anticlockwise direction, there is no such rule for planets, and these affect both in clockwise and anticlockwise directions. This is known as the aspect of Planet Conjunction: When a planet accompanies another one in the same sign, it is known as a conjunction.

Combustion. When a planet is within 5° of either side of the sun (for practical purpose), it' s called combusted. A combusted planet is taken as a weak. However, theoretically combustion range is different for various planets, and it's as follows: Moon 12°, Mercury 14°, Venus 10°, Jupiter 11°, Mars 17°, Saturn 15°.
Affliction. When a planet is aspected or conjuncted by natural malefic, viz., Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, Sun, and Mars, it is said to suffer from the affliction, as it wasn' t be able to provide expected results.

The weakness of the Planet: A planet, when placed in Neech Rashi or in 6,8 and 12 houses or combusted or afflicted, is considered as weak.

Lagna or Ascendant: Ascendant (Lagna). It is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth. The Indian system takes the value 23° less than the western system (it is known as ayanamsa), and therefore your Ascendant in the western system may be different from it
